Job DescriptionOverviewThe Revenue Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting for the order-to-cash process and the delivery of accurate and timely financial information relating to certain product revenues (including cell and gene therapies), gross to net accounts and accounts receivable to meet the operational needs and internal and external reporting requirements of the organization. The role will partner closely with members of Trade and Distribution, Market Access, Finance, Global Revenue Accounting, Government Pricing and Third-Party Partners. The Manager will also be responsible for identifying and driving process improvement initiatives including automation and data analytics.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for order-to-cash process for certain products. Responsibilities include:Managing accounting relationship with customers and third-party service providersEnsuring timely customer collections and dispute resolutionAssessing customer creditworthiness and credit limitsTimely execution of the revenue accounting month-end close for product salesDelivery of accurate financial reporting for both internal and external requirementsReconcile product revenue, accounts receivable, and gross-to-net accruals on a monthly basisDevelop knowledge of markets to design and perform analytics to evaluate monthly resultsCollaborate with Commercial Finance and Market Access teams on monthly actualization and forecasting processPartner with Trade & Operations on service-provider and customer-relationship managementUtilizing knowledge and data, provide strategic input into recommendations for change and process improvement as well as continuously evolving and evaluating policies and proceduresParticipate (and lead as needed) in the development of new systems, processes and automationAbility to review and oversee work of team members as neededRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree requiredTypically requires 5+ years of related experience with experience in life sciences preferredAdvanced excel skillsExperience with Oracle Financial Software a plusKnowledge/SkillsAbility to collaborate and influence across and within different levels of the organization Strong written and oral communication skillsAbility to identify and drive process improvementsAbility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment; ability to manage multiple prioritiesDemonstrate continuous improvement mindset and ability to increase responsibilities over time#LI-Hybrid#LI-AA1At Vertex, we embrace continuous learning and encourage employees to stay informed on advances in AI, technology, automation, and industry trends. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
